I was looking for alternatives to the burnt out touch screen in my 2019 Subaru Outback. It's been on back order with the dealer since July with no delivery date in sight.

I figured I'd try to see if they had anything compatible and was expecting they would have to order it for a future installation date. Brandon was so helpful and identified several different brands that would work. He didn't pressure me to buy an upper end unit which I really appreciate. I was thrilled when he said he could install the unit in my car that very same day. I'm so happy that I don't have to drive around in silence anymore! I would highly recommend this place for car stereos with Bluetooth capability for both Apple and Android products. They sell dash cams too so I may be back to get one installed later. Brandon is a true professional who provides great customer service.

Highly recommended! I went here to get 2007 RAV4 stereo upgraded and they were able to get me features that I wasn't expecting, such as wireless Apple car play, for a price even lower than I anticipated on spending. They even put in a free back-up camera and I only paid for the labor! I had an issue with the subwoofer which wasn't their fault (previously blown speaker) and they diagnosed it and showed me when the panel was open, so that I then knew what to do to replace it. The best thing is that they won't try to make you pay more than you want; they're affordable!

I had a good experience at San Diego Car Stereo. I received a dashcam for Xmas and wanted it hardwired. I supplied the unit and wiring and they were able to install it at a good price. The price was consistent with others that gave me bids, but the selling point for me was their location. If I was going to be without a car for several hours, there are plenty of places close by to walk.

I also had them replace a back up camera while I was there. Overall, I had a good experience and everything works great. I'd recommend them to a friend.

I highly recommend San Diego car Stereo no matter if it’s being installed in a Car Boat or Motorcycle! In my case it was a Harley Davidson Road king 👑 Kevin and the Install team Blew away my expectations! I walked in he was friendly he asked me questions about what I was trying to accomplish I told him he walked me through the process Because I had some custom things being done and Did they Deliver!!! Excellent customer service! This shop was referred by my mechanic. Wanted to replace a stock unit. Ended up ordering a refurbished unit through them. That unit required a security code. The dealer wanted to charge $200 to hook the car up to a computer to get info that could be looked up in their data base. The get-around required some extra labor, which they did not charge me for. I will recommend this shop to anyone.

I purchased an aftermarket head unit here and had it installed. It was a complete disaster.

I was told the install would take two to three hours. It took over six. When I got my car back I found that:

- the unit did not fit as the owner had assured me it would. It sits in front of the majority of the air vents in the central part of the dash along with the hazard light switch. In retrospect I should've measured this myself but the owner seemed like he knew what he was talking about and spoke with certainty, and I made the mistake of going along with that. While air can still get out of these vents, it is no longer possible to get airflow from them to the driver or passenger.

- there were scratches on the dash near the stereo. These are fortunately covered by the new oversize screen, but mean that there's no going back without having to look at those.

- a screw was missing in the stereo.

After going back to get the missing screw installed, I set about forgetting this episode and moving on, only to discover when I tried to move my satellite radio subscription over that the satellite antenna was not connected.

So I went back to get that fixed. I was worried about something else bad happening but I had paid over $100 to this business for satellite radio adapter, along with the $15 fee to switch my radio subscription.

I then spent 2 hours waiting for this to be addressed - the low end of the original estimate to install this entire thing. There are also now more scratches on the dash which I am almost certain were not there before. I wish I had taken a photo of the dash before bringing the car in.

Had I been okay with spending 8 hours to get this installed and nick up the interior of my car I would've done it myself. Every time I look at the dash of my car and see this damage now it's going to piss me off.

Do not go here.

Oh another thing - the excuse I was given for the six hour install time was that they hadn't worked on an Outback before. Seriously? If you and your crew don't know how to work on a certain type of car, perhaps you should allocate more time for that install ahead of time, or better yet, decline to do the install altogether.
